Greg Egan’s newest collection is just out. Crystal Nights and Other Stories is nearly a hundred pages longer than last year’s Dark Integers and Other Stories, and the contents just as good. As Booklist notes: “Egan executes…with a mastery of setting and characterization not commonly associated with writing concerned with such ‘hard-science’ subjects as AI. May he find as much fame and fortune as he will satisfied readers.”
