It seems that we’ll have three releases by Jack Vance this summer: his new collection, Wild Thyme, Green Magic; the massive (nearly 700 pages) tribute volume, Songs of the Dying Earth; and this gem, Jack’s autobiography. If you want to read about an adventuresome life that went well beyond being one of our seminal sf/fantasy writers, This is Me, Jack Vance! paints a picture of the travels and influences that went into many of Jack’s classic works. The book is rounded out by a healthy photo section, with images from Jack’s early years to his most recent. This, like so many of Jack’s books, is one to treasure.
