Subterranean Press is proud to announce the first volume of one of the most beloved fantasy series currently being published.

Please note: We have all four of Naomi Novik’s Temeraire books under contract, and can offer matching numbers to collectors interested in a matched set. The first of them, His Majesty’s Dragon, is now available for preorder.

Rather than reveal plot points, we’ll assume you’re familiar with the novels’ basic premise that a British naval officer in the Napoleonic wars unintentionally becomes the handler of a combat dragon. Instead, here’s just a brief taste of the raves these novels have been receiving:

The Subterranean Press limited editions will feature a full-color dustjacket by original Temeraire illustrator Dominic Harman, plus four full color illustrations (in the limited edition), with a fifth illustration exclusive to the lettered edition by Anke Eissmann. In addition, our volumes will be printed in two colors throughout on 80# Finch paper to bring the novels a level of class and grace they so richly deserve.
